Oakdale, Minn. – Aug. 23, 2016 –bibliotheca announced today a new partnership with Living Language, an imprint of Penguin Random House, for exclusive distribution of digital language learning courses into public libraries.
Living Language's catalog of more than 40 language courses is now available to public libraries as a digital subscription, providing patrons with an effective, easy-to-use language learning experience that includes specialized on-the-job courses, ESL, business, and conversational lessons. Online courses and mobile-friendly apps make it convenient and applicable for a wide range of patrons.
Living Language's teaching techniques were originally designed for the U.S. State Department and offer a unique and proven method for learning a language. In addition to general language courses there are specialized on-the-job modules specifically created for librarians, business travelers, law enforcement and healthcare workers. These specific language courses can help libraries provide a valuable resource to their communities and engage a wider audience than other language programs in the market.
"bibliotheca is excited for this new opportunity that adds even more breadth and diversity to our product portfolio," said Tom Mercer, Director of Digital Products, bibliotheca. "We focus on solutions that help libraries captivate and connect with their diverse communities, and we know Living Language is a great product that will help libraries meet the growing need for language programs."
"bibliotheca's strong relationships with ILS partners, together with their infrastructure to support digital products, make them an ideal partner," said Skip Dye, Vice President, Director, Library Sales and Operations, Penguin Random House. "Our teaming together will help us both make this a great experience for libraries and patrons."
