Arlington Public Library joins Marmot Library Network as sixth Pika discovery partner

Marmot Library Network is pleased to announce that their sixth Discovery Partner, Arlington Public Library, is now live on the Pika Discovery Layer. "We're thrilled to join forces with other systems across the country in sharing Marmot Library Network's open-source-based approach. The look and feel of our catalog is a great step forward and we're hearing all kinds of great things from our patrons," said Arlington's Web Team Project Leader, Jonathan Newton. The Pika Discovery Layer includes seamless checkout and account integration with ebooks and digital magazines, a mobile-ready responsive interface, and unique a "record-grouping" feature that improves the user experience with especially large library catalogs.

Arlington Public Library was founded in 1936 and is located in Arlington, Virginia. The system includes a central library with seven branches, circulates more than three million items per year, and serves a population of approximately 212,000. The Arlington Public Library is committed to building a sustainable community by providing information, promoting the pleasure of reading and providing welcoming facilities for learning and discourse.

Marmot Library Network hosts an integrated library system, maintains a union catalog of 1.8 million works, and provides related IT services to 27 public, academic, and school libraries across Colorado. Marmot also develops and supports the Pika Discovery Layer for Marmot members and 6 "Discovery Partners" across the United States.
