Melbourne -- 28 October 2015. Civica, a market leader in specialist software and outsourcing that help organisations to transform the way they work, continues to be a preferred library systems provider for Western Australian public libraries, with the City of Rockingham announcing that it will migrate from its existing system to Spydus10, Civica's market-leading library and community solution comprising library management, personalised patron discovery, digital asset management and archival functionality. The solution will also include direct integration with Rockingham Council's finance systems, also provided by Civica.
The City of Rockingham, in Perth's southern suburbs, joins the City of Armadale, also in Perth's south, which last month announced its decision to move from its legacy system so Spydus10 last month.
"We understand that the decision to change library system is a very important one," said Marc Nolan, Managing Director of Library Solutions. "So we are pleased that the City of Rockingham has thoroughly evaluated the market and chosen Spydus10. It means that we are on the right track in designing and developing library and community solutions with the end-user always in mind".
City of Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said "The City is excited to be implementing this new system in our four library branches because it will provide many benefits to the community, including a more interactive end-user experience and streamlined downloading of eResources. Our library staff are also looking forward to being able to integrate the library system with other City functions, and the opportunity to provide library users with a wider range of information through a single portal."
The City of Rockingham's four library branches will go live on Spydus10 early in 2016.
