DENVER (August 11, 2015) The Library Corporation (TLC) is pleased to announce the EDI certification of its CARL.X ILS with one of the fastest growing book distributors in the United States, Children's Plus, Inc. (CPI). As a result of this integration project, CARL customers will have a new option for purchasing thousands of juvenile and young adult titles using the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) industry standard, to order materials from CPI.
The CARL.X system is in use by some of the industry's largest and forward thinking public libraries, and TLC takes pride in its support of a myriad of technology protocols, including EDI. TLC's straightforward third party certification process provides a swift turn-around for integrations in order to get new and leading edge services into the hands of its library customers and their patrons. Ebony Pacheco-Hoos, CARL's subject matter expert for Acquisitions elaborated, "Key to TLC's acquisitions strategy, are the strong relationships we forge with our third party partners, and working with CPI to bring additional options for materials ordering and invoicing to the CARL customer base, quickly and efficiently, is no exception."
The Los Angeles Public Library is the first CARL library to take advantage of the electronic ordering and invoicing capabilities made available through the TLC and CPI partnership. Kevin Walsh, President of CPI shared, "Today's public libraries require options to meet the complex needs of their young patrons, and CPI's certification with CARL.X expands the possibilities. We are proud of the streamlined integration project we completed together, and are proud to list an industry leader such as TLC as a CPI partner."
