Biblionix Converts All 106 Iowa Customers to New OverDrive Consortium

Press Release: Biblionix [July 15, 2015]

Austin, Texas – July 15, 2015 – Biblionix, the major 2015 award winner for library automation systems, today announced that overnight, it migrated all of its 106 Iowa customers of its Apollo system to the new "Bridges: Iowa's eLibrary" OverDrive consortium. Previously the libraries were in either the WILBOR or NEIBORS consortium. Bridges combines the two. It is provided through the State Library of Iowa.

Apollo's normal operation automatically manages the addition/removal of MARC for consortium and Advantage titles in the library's public catalog. This connection, as well as all download URLs in every library's catalogs, were changed to Bridges without customers doing anything. Also, all mentions of WILBOR and NEIBORS were changed to Bridges.

From their public catalog, logged-in patrons are sent directly to the OverDrive page for the title of interest _and_ they are logged-in to their OverDrive account, in a ‘single-sign-on' approach. These connections were also changed overnight for all 106 customers.

This free service is yet another example of the power and flexibility of Apollo's multi-tenant, cloud-based architecture. In this case, Biblionix was able to perform detailed technical tasks for all of its customers.
