Sunnyvale, CA - June 24, 2015 - Boopsie, Inc., the leading mobile platform-as-a-service provider for libraries worldwide, today announced the newest addition to its mobile platform: "Top 20 Books," a data-driven carousel of book titles that are currently trending as the most popular with the over 3 million users of Boopsie's mobile app platform.
With the addition of "Top 20 Books," library patrons who have downloaded their library's mobile app can now easily browse the twenty titles with the highest usage across the Boopsie mobile app's network of over 3 million users. This feature will leverage Boopsie Analytics, a proprietary database of comprehensive mobile usage analytics.
"73% of library users say they visit the library to browse the shelves for books or media," says Tony Medrano, Boopsie's CEO. "By offering this customized, easily browsable selection of books that are popular with users' peers, our new "Top 20 Books" channel helps keep the library relevant and accessible to the growing numbers of citizens using library services via their mobile devices."
"It's great to see Boopsie leverage the usage data to help libraries engage our patrons with trending books in our mobile app," said Diane Cowen, Virtual Services Librarian at Santa Cruz Public Libraries. "With the "Top 20 Books" channel, Boopsie is making it even easier for our library system to deliver innovative virtual services to our community."
Top 20 Books is now live with select beta customers, and will be rolled out to all libraries on the Boopsie mobile platform this Summer. Libraries interested in adding Top 20 Books can contact Boopsie and see a demo at the American Library Association Conference in San Francisco June 26th-30th at Booth 2929.
