Concordia University Wisconsin supports their students and library staff with ProQuest

Press Release: ProQuest [March 11, 2015]

Concordia University Wisconsin selected Intota and Syndetic Solutions from ProQuest to improve upon the productivity of library staff and continue to enhance the research experience for their students.

As a long-time, satisfied customer of 360 Link, 360 Counter and the Summon Service, Concordia is eager to build upon its solutions from ProQuest and streamline library management workflows with the transformational library services platform.

"We've loved our 360 products like Core, Link and Counter for some time now. They are superb!" Director of Library Services Christian Himsel shares. "The implementation of Summon has really enhanced and enriched the entire research experience for our users."

The electronic resource management (ERM) component offered with Intota will save the library staff valuable time. Each year, the library staff has been challenged by digging through emails and spreadsheets trying to determine whether various databases had been paid. With the addition of Intota, they will be able to better manage their time, and track the cost of resources and databases more effectively.

"With a next-generation ERM, we will have a better handle on tracking who is doing what, which vendors have responded and when," comments Katherine Malland, Technical Services Coordinator.

Satisfied with the robust search and content coverage from the Summon Service, researchers at Concordia are heading to the library more than ever. The addition of Syndetic Solutions to Summon will deliver an even more engaging experience for the students of the university, who will now see book jackets and journal covers, be able to read book reviews, and see the awards. Syndetic Solutions will provide the depth and richness of the content available, and together with the Summon Service, content will be more discoverable to increase resource usage.

Katherine concludes, "We try to enrich our catalog by adding content notes and summaries, but it doesn't compare to what our students will now see with Syndetic Solutions, and we can add it to Facebook. How cool is that?"
