Claremont Colleges Library selects OCLC WorldShare Management Services

Press Release: New York Public Library [February 3, 2015]

DUBLIN, Ohio, 4 February 2015—The Claremont Colleges Library, which serves five undergraduate liberal arts colleges, two graduate institutions and the Claremont University Consortium in Southern California, has selected OCLC WorldShare Management Services as its library management system.

WorldShare Management Services (WMS) provide cloud-based library management and discovery applications in an integrated suite. WMS offers librarians a cost-effective way to manage workflows efficiently, and improve access to library collections and services for their users.

The Claremont Colleges include Claremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd College, Pitzer College, Pomona College and Scripps College. The two graduate institutions include Claremont Graduate University and Keck Graduate Institute. The seven independent institutions offer rigorous curricula, small classes, distinguished professors and personalized instruction in a vibrant residential college community that provides intensive interaction between students and faculty.

"WorldShare Management Services will give us the opportunity to transform our user experience," said Kevin Mulroy, A.J. McFadden Dean of the Library of The Claremont Colleges Library. "Our selection of this global consortial system supports the library's new strategic plan to expand discovery and increase access to information resources for our faculty, staff and students."

"Claremont is a great group to work with and I can't wait for them to join the 300 active libraries in the WMS community," said Andrew K. Pace, OCLC Executive Director, Networked Library Services. "Claremont will benefit as a group from the efficiencies of WMS—and all WMS users will benefit from having Claremont as part of the community. They truly recognize the value in sharing infrastructure, applications and innovation in the cloud."
