London, 27th November, 2014. Cheshire Libraries Shared Service has chosen the Koha library management system to replace its existing Axiell Galaxy solution. PTFS Europe will fully implement the Koha system and provide on-going hosting and support services.
Koha Library Management System
The Koha library management system is a completely web-based application providing staff with access to the system through web browsers. The system comprises core modules: acquisitions with EDI, circulation, cataloguing, serials and comprehensive reporting functionality. Koha integrates easily with other applications such as finance systems delivering efficiency and saving valuable time and resources. The Koha online catalogue (OPAC) offers end users excellent search capabilities together with a full range of personalisation services. Koha's depth of functionality continues to evolve and expand to meet the changing needs of libraries and their users.
Cheshire Libraries Shared Services
Cheshire Libraries Shared Services was established by Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils to deliver efficiency and provide cost effective benefits for the combined library services. The authority partners are both unitary authorities serving a combined population of approximately 720,000 through a total of 47 branch libraries. Cheshire Libraries Shared Services is comprised of various teams, which provide specialist and business support to customers in Cheshire West & Chester and Cheshire East libraries
