Albemarle Regional Library chooses TLC

Press Release: The Library Corporation [September 4, 2014]

INWOOD, W.Va. (Sept. 4, 2014) - Every public library in North Carolina has the option of joining the statewide NC Cardinal consortium, which provides an open-source automation system to its participants.

Albemarle Regional Library recently decided to migrate from the State Library of North Carolina's consortium and join the 50 percent of the state's public libraries using Library.Solution, The Librar Corporation's next-generation automation system.

"We're looking forward to working with TLC," Albemarle Regional Library Director Teresa Cole said. "They have a reputation for providing both a highly efficient automated library system and also top-notch customer service. Everyone we talked to who has their system speaks very highly of it."

The Albemarle Regional Library system serves Bertie, Gates, Hertford, and Northampton counties in northeastern North Carolina. Its seven locations and 200,000 titles serve a population of 76,000.

The library system is replacing its open-source Evergreen ILS with TLC's Library.Solution and its suite of LS2 enhancements - LS2 PAC, LS2 Kids, LS2 Staff, and LS2 Reports - to provide the highest level of service to the community and a powerful yet efficient software package for staff. "It's essential that small, minimally staffed libraries such as ours be able to handle the workflow at the desk In the least number of steps to free up their time for other tasks," Cole said. "And of course, we are looking forward to the reports system that they can provide us."

Albemarle Regional Library is joining the TLC family as the company celebrates its 40th anniversary of providing premiere automation and cataloging solutions to libraries worldwide. More than 4,500 libraries in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia utilize TLC products and services.

TLC is based in Inwood, W.Va., and has additional offices in Denver, London, Singapore, and Ontario, Canada. To learn more, visit TLCdelivers.com, e-mail info@TLCdelivers.com, or call 1.800.325.7759.
