16 June 2014: Civica, a leader in specialist systems and business process services that help organisations to transform the way they work, is pleased to announce the partnership with Baker & Taylor's subsidiary James Bennett, the leader in library supply, to make their Axis 360 digital media resources readily accessible to library users in Spydus 9.
This partnership to deliver seamless eBooks access is one of the first for Spydus 9. It enables users to search, view availability and borrow Axis 360 resources in a single transaction, without leaving the Spydus OPAC. Loans statistics for Axis 360 resources are captured within Spydus and borrowers can track both their digital and physical loans in a single library account.
"After listening to our customers and understanding what they wanted, we approached the most popular e-content providers to partner with us," said Marc Nolan Civica Library Solutions Managing Director. "James Bennett were extremely fast in accepting our partnership proposal and worked with us to efficiently integrate their resources."
"Achieving the integration of Axis 360 and Civica will improve the library experience for our customers and their patrons," said Chris von Hinckeldey, James Bennett's Managing Director. "James Bennett and Civica both strongly support ReadersFirst principles, and through our partnership, we are making sure the technologies libraries rely on run seamlessly."
