PHILADELPHIA, PA - 24 January, 2014 – Altarama Information Systems has just launched a staffing service for libraries that need help filling virtual reference service schedules. RefStaffing provides the academic, public and special libraries that use Altarama's RefChatter and RefTracker software platforms with new options for enhancing their online services.
RefStaffing is provided by reference librarians with expertise in virtual reference delivery and with the Altarama platforms, allowing for coverage after hours, overnight, holidays, and 24/7. Backup coverage for planned and unplanned periods of high traffic or library staff unavailability is also available. RefStaffing librarians have one-click access to the contracting library's profile, policies and resources, assuring that their patrons receive reference help quickly and seamlessly.
Arthur Brady, Altarama CEO, said "With RefStaffing our clients win in three ways: they can affordably extend their online service hours; their own staff can "leave the desk" when needed, knowing that the service is covered; and they work with a single vendor and system. And Altarama's reference staffers do the work that they love—mostly from home—allowing them flexibility, as well."
Altarama is exhibiting in Booth #1202 at the ALA Midwinter Conference in Philadelphia.
