October 14, 2013 -- Emeryville, CA. Dauphin County Library System (DCLS) in Pennsylvania has selected a suite of Innovative products including the Sierra Services Platform, Encore discovery solution, and Decision Center collection management solution. They are migrating from a Horizon system provided by SirsiDynix.
"We chose Sierra because we need software that's easy to use, cost efficient, and meets both the needs of the public and staff members," says Lisa Appelt, DCLS's Public Services Director. "We plan to use the system long-term because we'll be able customize it to best meet our patrons' needs, something the traditional closed-style systems can't offer."
DCLS also selected the integrated Encore discovery solution. Appelt continues: "With Encore, we'll be able to provide patrons with a Google-like searching experience, social features such as tagging, and integration of eBooks and articles in the search results."
