Wiliamsport, PA, June 24, 2013 –Brodart's Books & Library Services Division, a leading supplier of shelf-ready materials to libraries, announced partnership today with ChiliFresh, a global provider of patron social networking and book reviews. The partnership fully integrates the ChiliFresh Review Engine with Bibz.com, Brodart's online selection and ordering tool.
The ChiliFresh Review Engine enables patrons to write reviews and provide ratings on books and materials from within the library catalog. As a result of the partnership, Bibz.com users will have access to ChiliFresh's database of patron reviews from thousands of libraries across the globe when making collection development decisions.
"As a society, we have become accustomed to making decisions in both our personal and work lives based on first-hand user experiences," said Chris Frantz, Director of Marketing for Brodart Books & Library Services. "Through this integration, libraries can now have that same opportunity when making decisions about purchasing books and other materials for their collections."
The ChiliFresh integration in Bibz puts user reviews available alongside professional reviews in search results, personal lists, TIPS (Title Information Preview Service) lists, and hundreds of freely available special lists spanning all subjects and genres, built by Brodart's Collection Development Service experts. These tools will enable libraries to make more informed decisions prior to ordering.
"It's become inherent in our behavior to read user reviews before making purchases, going to restaurants, or deciding where to travel and stay," said ChiliFresh.com President & CEO Scott Johnson. "This partnership between ChiliFresh and Brodart gives libraries the online user experience they've come to expect, as well as the information they need to develop outstanding collections their patrons will enjoy."
