St. Paul, Minn. – April 15, 2013 – The 3M Cloud Library eBook Lending Service will bring Simon & Schuster eBooks to readers in a new pilot program at the New York Public Library and Brooklyn Public Library. The program will make all Simon & Schuster eBooks available to the library for purchase, including new titles.
"These pilot programs are a first step for publishers to engage in the library eBook market," said Tom Mercer, marketing manger, 3M Cloud Library. "Through collaborations with publishers, 3M has been able to help expand the overall market, bringing more digital titles to libraries."
Since its launch in 2011, the 3M Cloud Library has participated in successful pilot programs with a number of top publishers, coordinating mutually beneficial relationships between publishers and libraries. This history includes a past program with the New York Public Library system, one of the largest libraries in the United States.
