The Dutch vendor and producer of software for libraries, museums and archives is as of the 1st of March 2013 part of the Swedish Axiell AB. This combination now forms the largest supplier of software for these markets in Europe.
"For a long period of time we have been looking for the right partner to strengthen our market position and secure our future, we believe that the current speed of technological developments requires up scaling in order to continue to operate successfully in the future" says Adlib's managing director Bert Degenhart Drenth. "We were pleasantly surprised when Axiell contacted us, the Scandinavian mentality turned out to fit very well with ours, and Axiell proved to be the perfect partner for us".
As a result Axiell AB has acquired all the shares in Adlib Information Systems. Existing Adlib customers will experience little change as a result of the acquisition. The Adlib software is state-off-the-art and will continue to be developed in Maarssen. In the future we plan to implement technical developments and software components together with our new Swedish parent company. Customer support will continue to operate from Maarssen. The current Adlib Information Systems management (Bert Degenhart Drenth, CEO and Marijke van der Kwartel, CFO) will continue in their existing functions and will also become a member of the Axiell management team.
"The goal of our acquisition is growth and up scaling", says Axiell managing director Joel Sommerfeldt. "Adlib Information Systems fits really well in this strategy: we operate in similar markets, but in different geographic areas. To accelerate the growth we will immediately be hiring an International Sales Manager for our office in Maarssen. In addition to this our Scandinavian network will operate as a launch pad for Adlib products in the Nordic countries. The acquisition of Adlib by Axiell group is a great step forward in the future for all stakeholders, including the current Adlib customer."
