Credo to add financial aid information to Literati through partnership with Reference Service Press

Press Release: Credo Reference [January 23, 2013]

January 24, 2013, Boston, Oxford Approximately two-thirds of college students need financial aid to begin or continue their studies, according to the United States Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics.[1] To help students find ways to fund their education, Credo, the industry leader for information skills solutions, today announced it has partnered with Reference Service Press, a leading authority on college scholarships. Under the terms of the agreement, Credo will seamlessly integrate financial aid information from Reference Service Press into its Literati solutions for schools, academic institutions, public libraries and student athlete programs.

"We are continually looking for ways to enhance Literati, not only with services that promote information skills and are essential to problem solving and critical thinking, but also with information that will help people extend their education for academic, professional and personal success," said Carol Helton, Executive Vice President of Customer Solutions and Marketing. "For the past 35 years, Reference Service Press has continually received the highest praise for its financial aid directories, ebooks and searchable databases. The company's content and technologies are a perfect fit for Literati."

"We are excited to become part of Literati. The financial aid information we will be making available to all Literati subscribers and users will identify billions of dollars available to help millions of students offset the increasing costs of a college education," commented Gail Schlachter, President of Reference Service Press, "This scholarship service will offer an ideal complement to other innovative Literati features like online tutoring, homework help, and multimedia videos."

Literati works within a framework that enables learners to improve their information skills through a combination of content, tools and services that are available anytime, anywhere. The platform, which is customized for each market, as well as each individual customer, includes highly interactive reference content from quality publishers that provides a starting point for deeper research and learning and is enhanced through the seamless integration of additional third party resources and technologies.

Literati's ongoing services, provided by Credo's team of on-staff librarians and educators, include multimedia videos, tutorials, assessments, marketing support and other services that are aligned with the organization's specific strategic goals.
