October 30th, 2012. Cockburn Libraries in coastal Western Australia moved to a Spydus Managed Service in November this year. An active Spydus customer for over a decade, the Council decided to move from a standalone Spydus service to Managed Service because it provided access to the very latest technology infrastructure at a fraction of the cost. The other main benefit seen by the Council was the removal of system maintenance concerns.
Linda Seymour, Library Technology Coordinator, said that the move was straight forward and was achieved with no downtime to the library service.
Cockburn libraries are the third West Australian library service to move to managed services this year.
