Auto-Graphics Selected to Continue to Provide JerseyCat Interlibrary Loan Services

Press Release: Auto-Graphics, Inc. [May 11, 2012]

The New Jersey State Library has signed an agreement with Auto-Graphics to continue to provide the interlibrary loan services that support the JerseyCat interlibrary loan system. This system provides New Jersey's libraries with access to a broad range of materials through the JerseyCat portal and participating library websites, supplemented by access to collections nationwide.

JerseyCat is available to all New Jersey's public, academic, special, institutional and school libraries that are members of the New Jersey Library Network as well as the New Jersey State Library.

The contract is for 3 years and NJSL has the option of extending the Agreement for an additional two one-year periods to June 30, 2017. In addition to meeting the current requirements of the system, Auto-Graphics will be providing additional training for staff, tutorials for patrons and the capability of allowing users to view their accounts via mobile devices within approximately six months.

A Statewide Interlibrary Loan Task Force was convened to prepare the specifications for the Request for Quotation, and then to review the vendors' submissions for conformity with the requirements. The members of the ILL Task Force provided a great service to the library community. Their generosity in serving on this committee allowed for representation from various types of libraries, consortia and geographic areas. The expertise and diverse experience each contributed to the process were critical to assuring a successful outcome.

The Task Force consisted of the following members:

  • Kim Alongi, Franklin Elementary School, South Plainfield School District
  • Clare Bebbington, Atlantic County Library
  • Ellen Smith Johnston, Jennings Library, Caldwell College
  • Arlen Kimmelman, Clearview Regional High School
  • Diane McCormick, Gloucester County Library
  • Cheryl O'Connor, LibraryLinkNJ
  • Margaret Rose O'Keefe, William E. Dermody Free Public Library, Carlstadt
  • Eileen Palmer, LMxAC
  • Linda Silverstein, Monmouth University Library
  • Robert White, BCCLS

NJSL staff members who supported the work of the Task Force included Casey Confoy, Laretha Hodge, Kathleen Moeller-Peiffer, Victoria Rosch and Scherelene Schatz.
