North Bethesda, MD, June 7, 2012. LibLime, a division of PTFS, announces that the Colville School District in Colville, Washington has chosen LibLime to provide them with support and hosting services for the District's library union catalog. The District had been maintaining their union catalog locally, but has selected LibLime to move the union catalog to the LibLime distributed computing cloud platform. LibLime will also migrate the union catalog to LibLime Koha 4.12 as part of the project.
Colville looks forward to taking advantage of all the functionality in LibLime Koha 4.12 including the performance improvements gained through the use of the Plack environment; the ability for each library in the union catalog to ‘own' their own patron and item records; the ability to create search groups in the OPAC for more focused access into the union catalog; and the expanded holds queue processing that supports better resource sharing between the member libraries.
About Colville
The six schools within the Colville School District serve the greater community of Colville, Washington, the Stevens County seat. The city's historical roots date back to early 19th century when it was established as a fort near one of the Hudson's Bay Company's fur trading sites. The area was part of the Oregon Boundary Dispute during the mid-19th century as both the British and American governments made claims in the Pacific Northwest. Colville today is a progressive community surrounded by beautiful natural resources with an economy supported by the timber and mining industries.
