Bibliotheca, the world's leading supplier of RFID library solutions, is to significantly expand its presence and activities in the Nordic region in partnership with leading global LMS supplier Axiell. Following the completion of an exclusive 10-year partnership, Bibliotheca and Axiell will integrate the Bibliotheca A/S business within the global Bibliotheca Group.
Previously a separate venture, Bibliotheca A/S will now integrate within the global Bibliotheca Group to better serve customers in the Swedish, Danish, Finish and Norwegian markets. From the summer 2012, integration will commence to ensure the new company operates wholly under the Bibliotheca branding, and will benefit from the Group's new global product range of RFID and AMH solutions.
Step one, over the coming months, will see Bibliotheca A/S current product portfolio extended to include products from the global product range. In addition, a number of unique and novel products that had previously been exclusive to the Nordic region will be evaluated to assess their suitability for launch to a global market, further enhancing Bibliotheca's Group product range.
Sven Hilm, who has been appointed Managing Director of Bibliotheca in the Nordic region as of 1st September, commented: "We are extremely pleased to formally join the Bibliotheca Group and to be able to expand our offering in our local markets. We are looking forward to working with the Group and benefitting from the central functions that will be made available, such as integrated IT and IS systems, central purchasing and the global product development teams, together with combining with colleagues worldwide to extend best practises to the library community."
In addition to direct sales, the joint venture will allow Axiell to offer the entire Bibliotheca product set to customers in the Nordic region, enabling them to provide a fully integrated RFID and ILS/LMS solution. This agreement compliments perfectly the existing relationship between Axiell in the UK, which has been a reseller of Bibliotheca products since 2009.
Joel Sommerfeldt, CEO of Axiell commented: "It has always been Axiell's ambition to better integrate our LMS operation with high grade library logistics solutions. We have been working closely with Bibliotheca A/S for over 5 years, and as the relationship has grown, the natural step was to incorporate them into the global Bibliotheca Group in order that we can benefit from an integrated product portfolio and offer an enriched product range to the Nordic market. This partnership with Bibliotheca not only provides the perfect platform for our services in the Nordic region, but will additionally give our customers an unprecedented level of integration between our products sets."
