POMONA, CA. - April 29, 2010-Agent Information Software, Inc. (AIS), today reported a net loss of ($121,522) for the quarter ended March 31, 2010, up $47,708 or 28% over first quarter 2009. The net loss was less than projected for the first quarter by $50,688 or 29%. Net sales for the quarter ended March 31, 2010 were $1,137,781, which met forecast but were down $64,854 or 5% from $1,202,635 for the same period last year because of fewer one-time sales and customer concerns due to economic and budget constraints in the library market.
The company continues to invest heavily in new software in 2010. Auto-Graphics will continue to focus on the library market, while AgentLegal will focus on the legal market. The company plans to invest more than $1,500,000 in software in 2010, which should result in an operating loss for the year. Agent Information Software developed and released its first mobile application, iLib2Go, designed for the library market. iLib2Go was announced by subsidiary Auto-Graphics in March 2010 at the Public Library Association National Conference in Portland, OR. The mobile application was developed using the latest Apple iPhone SDK and adheres to Apple's strict application development guidelines. iLib2Go locates available AGent VERSO libraries using a mapping feature and allows patrons to view their accounts and to search library resources to find, renew and place reserves on items within the library collection. The company's plans leverage the software's open system architecture to develop additional advanced mobile applications for devices such as the Apple iPad, the Motorola DROID and BlackBerry smart phones.
