In the autumn of 2010, Helsingør main library will move to the new cultural center, the "Kulturværft". Lyngsoe is delivering new stations for returning library material along with a complete sorting system with chutes leading directly into ergo carts or transport boxes for other libraries.
The existing library accommodates around 300.000 visitors per year, which is expected to increase when the library moves to the new cultural center of Helsingør. Tedious, heavy and time consuming tasks of sorting and returning library materials to the shelves will be automated making the library more efficient and free up time for the librarians to help the patrons.
Self-service check-in stations for returning library materials will be available in the library as well as outside making it possible to return library materials at all hours. One check-in station will be placed outdoor for 24/7 returning of library items and two check-in stations will be in the hall way of the building, available when the cultural center is open. These two stations are directly connected to the sorter.
Twenty four chutes from the sorting system will deliver the books neatly onto ErgoCarts ready to for re-shelving. Six chutes will be dedicated electronic material and another four chutes will have ErgoVolume carts for materials not fit for automatic stabling. The last five chutes will be dedicated transport boxes, typically designated for branch libraries.
