January 2007 – Library Systems and Services (LSSI) has contracted with the City of Moorpark, California to operate the Moorpark City Library.
Under the terms of the agreement, LSSI will provide complete staffing and expand library services and programming. LSSI will develop a collection development plan; including increasing the amount of dollars spent on books and materials, and will be working to enhance the library's information technology. LSSI will also increase the number of hours the Library is open to the public by adding highly desirable hours on Sunday. LSSI assisted Moorpark in the transition from their previous status as a branch of the Ventura County Library System to becoming an independent City library.
"The City looks forward to the knowledge and experience LSSI and its staff will bring to the Moorpark City Library," states Mary Lindley, the City's Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Director. "LSSI has a solid reputation and we believe the firm will be a good fit."
"We're thrilled to be a part of Moorpark City Library's future success," said Frank Pezzanite, President and CEO of LSSI. "We are committed to each and every community we serve and are excited to bring our wealth of experience and innovative ideas to the City of Moorpark."
