InfoVision Technology is pleased to announce the important partnership with DS Limited to distribute and support the Amlib Library Management System in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
DS has decided to broaden its range of solutions for libraries by becoming the sole distributor for the UK and Ireland for the well established Amlib Library Management System, the leading Australian library automation system, from InfoVision Technology. As a fully Windows-based client server system supporting distributed databases over multiple library sites, Amlib is Z39.50 & MARC compliant and fits into the DS product range in between Galaxy 2000 and CALM 2000"
DS will support Amlib running on either Microsoft Windows 98/2000/NT and SQL Server, or Unix and Oracle. It is fully Internet and Intranet-enabled, allowing library members and guests to interrogate and browse the catalogue, place reservations and view current loans and history. Its modern design is reflected in features like sending overdue notices to selected borrowers via e-mail, having multiple modules open at the same time, and taking backup copies of data without shutting down the system.
