Denver Public Library Selects the Polaris ILS

Press Release: Polaris Library Systems [July 20, 2010]

Syracuse, NY, July 20, 2010 - Polaris Library Systems, a leading provider of library automation technology, announced today that the Denver Public Library has selected the Polaris Integrated Library System (ILS). The Polaris ILS will replace the library's CARL system.

"A busy urban library like Denver needs a functionally rich ILS to meet the expectations of our community and staff," said Michelle Jeske, director of collections and technology for the library. "Polaris offers time-saving, next-generation functionality and outstanding reporting options. What's more, Polaris has an excellent reputation for forming strong partnerships and providing exceptional service."

Consistently rated as one of the top ten large urban libraries by the HAPLR Index, Denver Public Library supports twenty-three branch locations and serves over nine million visitors each year. The library is an integral part of the Denver community, with almost 80 percent of Denver residents holding library cards. The library processes over fifty million online transactions each year.

"Denver Public Library has a long tradition of providing excellent customer service both in person and virtually," said Polaris President and CEO Bill Schickling. "We're proud to be the automation partner of such a forward thinking library and are excited to work together to better connect the Denver community to the digital world and enhance the online experience for customers and staff."
