POMONA, CA. - June 21, 2010 - Auto-Graphics, Inc., a technology innovator providing library automation solutions for 40 years, will be demonstrating several new enhancements to AGent VERSO, the company's integrated library system (ILS), at the ALA Annual Conference at the Washington, DC Convention Center, Booth # 1225, from June 25-28.
- SmartReports - The enhanced SmartReports module provides library staff with the ability to create, edit and produce user-defined reports by selecting a combination of data elements from item information, user information and bibliographic records. The intuitive web-based interface allows library staff to efficiently generate reports, ranging from simple to complex, using table joins to combine two or more data tables without any prior knowledge of SQL query language.
- Rich Interface Circulation Module - The circulation module has been redeveloped as a Web Services application from the ground-up using the Adobe Flex framework to leverage application interchange and to better incorporate future enhancements. The resulting module is a graphical interface with completely reorganized staff menus. It takes full advantage of efficiencies that can be gained through the use of a Rich Internet Application (RIA) in high volume transaction areas where workflow is critical.
- Category Browse Widget - This optional splash page widget provides patrons with a search option that mirrors commercial bookstores and online retailers. It searches library resources using broad bookstore-level categories based on the Book Industry Standards and Communications (BISAC) subject headings. Search parameters per subject heading are preconfigured for ease-of-use, but are easily customizable.
- Patron Self-Registration - Libraries now have the option to offer patron self registration from their library website, providing the community with immediate access to library resources. The easy-to-use feature quickly moves a patron through the registration process by using auto-fill technology and allowing patrons to instantly set-up an account with a temporary password provided through email confirmation. Library staff can configure the registration form to customize the wording, prompts and reminder messages.
"These new enhancements to AGent VERSO are the types of upgrades going into the system to fully exploit the benefits of RIAs, not only for patrons but also for library staff," commented Albert Flores, vice president of sales and marketing at Auto-Graphics. "While we continually strive to provide a platform that engages patrons and enhances their use experience, we are equally focused on using the same innovative technology to significantly improve workflow for library staff."
