VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – January 5, 2010 – Atlas Systems, the leading provider of time-saving solutions for libraries, and Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), the not-for-profit organization that is the world’s leading provider of copyright licensing solutions, today announced two programs designed to help libraries manage copyright issues associated with e-reserves and interlibrary loan. Both programs make it easy and cost effective for libraries to integrate copyright permissions into their workflow.
For institutions that purchase an Annual Copyright License from CCC before April 15th, 2010 Atlas will provide one year’s free access to the Ares e-reserves system. The Ares system automates library reserve services, provides around-the-clock access to reserves collections, includes integrated copyright management services, and saves time for faculty members and library staff. Ares is the only reserve system on the market today integrated with CCC’s Annual Copyright License that automatically verifies coverage when posting copyrighted content on e-reserve. "In this time of tight budgets, libraries can benefit significantly by taking advantage of this special offer," said Dan Specht, Atlas Systems’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "They get the robust reserves management functionality of Ares at no charge for the first year plus the convenience of the Annual Copyright License from CCC."
In a second promotional program in effect until March 19th, 2010, users of the ILLiad Resource Sharing Management system can win $500 worth of merchandise from Vernon Supplies simply by reporting ILL permissions through the CCC Link and Copyright Gateway Interface in ILLiad. In addition, Vernon, a leading provider of supplies, equipment, furniture, and technology solutions to libraries, also will give a 10% discount to each of three winners. "The CCC Link and Copyright Gateway Interface with ILLiad streamline the copyright permissions process for ILLiad users," Specht said. "While many academic libraries are already enjoying the benefits of this integration, some have yet to discover it. We hope the $500 drawing will serve as an incentive for them to try it."
