POMONA, CA. - October 21, 2009 - Auto-Graphics, Inc. (Pink Sheets: AUGR), a technology innovator providing library automation solutions for over 36 years, and ChiliFresh Enterprises, Inc., the industry leader in Web 2.0 functionality, today announced a technology collaboration to more flexibly integrate ChiliFresh's Review Engine into the AGent suite of library automation solutions and other library systems. The two companies worked together to develop a Web Services application that allows libraries to adapt integrated ChiliFresh content into a customized results set display. Previously, subscribing libraries were limited to a standard display of book reviews; with the development of the new Web Services application, libraries have the ability to present book reviews and ChiliFresh content through their OPAC in whatever manner best suits their needs.
"ChiliFresh gives library patrons exactly what they want... a voice," said Scott Johnson, CEO of ChiliFresh Enterprises. "This new relationship with Auto-Graphics gives us the ability to work closely together to provide integrated Web 2.0 solutions for Auto-Graphics' customers. We are thrilled to work alongside the Auto-Graphics team in developing custom solutions that facilitate the connections of library patrons around the world."
The ChiliFresh Review Engine consists of a database of reviews that reside on a remote server. When a library subscribes to ChiliFresh, its online catalog is enhanced by giving patrons a way to interact by reading and writing book reviews and providing starred ratings and reviews within the OPAC. Currently, library patrons from around the world view ChiliFresh review content from library catalogs in excess of 65 million times each month.
"At Auto-Graphics, our approach to software development is centered around an open systems approach to incorporating 'best-of-breed' technology solutions, such as the ChiliFresh Book Review Engine, and providing that to our customers in order to deliver functionality that can be customized to meet a library's unique needs, " said Paul Cope, president of Auto-Graphics. "In the case of this technology collaboration, I am pleased that our efforts to develop this flexible Web Services application will benefit the greater library community and not just Auto-Graphics customers."
