Bibliotheca Experiences Expansive Growth in RFID Sales in 2009

Press Release: Bibliotheca [July 8, 2009]

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – July 8, 2009 – Bibliotheca Inc., open RFID solutions partner of choice to 400+ libraries worldwide, announced today that the company year to date in 2009 has more than doubled North American sales of its RFID solutions for libraries over the same period in 2008. These robust sales of Bibliotheca’s BiblioChip technology-based security, self-check, and sorting solutions contributed to 34 percent growth in the company’s global sales, with the North American region accounting for more than 50 percent of the company’s worldwide results in the first half of 2009.

"This year has been a busy and exciting time for Bibliotheca," said Lamar Jackson, Bibliotheca president and CEO. "Despite significant economic challenges this year, libraries continue to increase their investment in RFID and automated materials handling solutions as the efficiencies allow them to handle the increase in demand for patron services while lowering operating costs."

"And libraries are increasingly turning to Bibliotheca for their RFID solutions for straightforward reasons: world-class RFID technology, the industry-leading ‘look and feel’ of our products, global customer service capabilities and unparalleled expertise that helps us craft RFID solutions to meet the unique needs of libraries throughout North America."

Jackson adds, "The second half of 2009 should prove to be equally exciting, with a number of new products and services along with new customer partnerships being announced. Watch for a number of important announcements in the coming months beginning at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago."
