Development Partnerships for Encore Reporting Module Announced

Press Release: Innovative Interfaces, Inc. [January 22, 2009]

January 22, 2009 -- Emeryville, CA. Two major library systems, Jefferson County Public Library (CO) and San Diego County Library (CA) have entered into partnership agreements with the company to develop a new statistical reporting tool for its market-leading discovery services platform, Encore. To be called the Encore Reporter, this new optional module will provide a series of reports on a wide variety of operational statistics including circulation, transit, and patron data sourced from the libraries' Millennium integrated library system.

The Encore Reporter will present key performance indicators including check-outs, check-ins, holds, overdue statistics, as well as patron and location statistics in a variety of time-period reports. In addition, Reporter will offer "drill down" capability and support "mash-ups," faceted results, and other presentation options in an easy-to-use interface.

Following its successful launch of Encore, Innovative has continued to identify and develop value-added modules using development partnerships. "The development-partner model is absolutely critical to the successful launch of any product," says Aaron Blazer, Vice President at Innovative. "This approach ensures that customer vision and feedback is channeled directly into the product-development process in a rapid and iterative manner."

The Encore Reporter will be the next in a series of optional modules based on the Encore Framework. Other optional modules include the Encore Discovery Client, Encore Harvesting Services, and the Encore Query API.

The company is in various stages of discussion with other potential partners and expects to have the initial partnership group in place in the next few weeks. The initial release of Encore Reporter is planned for the second quarter of 2009.
