Auto-Graphics Announces AGent Iluminar, a Next Generation Application

Press Release: Auto-Graphics, Inc. [January 20, 2009]

POMONA, CA. - January 20, 2009 -- Auto-Graphics, Inc. (OTCBB: AUGR) (Pink Sheets: AUGR), a technology innovator providing library automation solutions for over 36 years, today announced the development of AGent Iluminar, a next generation Web Services application for the company's library automation platform. AGent Iluminar was built using the free open source Flex framework, a key component of the Adobe Flash® Platform, which provides fast, end-to-end development of rich Internet applications (RIAs) that run identically on all major browsers and operating systems. AGent Iluminar provides a more visual and interactive user experienceto facilitate social networking, effortless navigation and "drag and drop" customization capabilities for an improved user experience and administrative workflow. The application has been selected for use by many of the company's existing customers including the State Library of Kansas and is expected to be made available in early 2009.

"The new AGent Iluminar application offers the State Library of Kansas the advancements in web presentation and usability that are the basis of our vision for a rich, customized end user experience on our website," commented Christie Brandau, State Librarian of Kansas. "Our recently implemented seamless user authentication and merged search - combined with AGent Iluminar - will allow us to reach out to patrons and provide an online library experience for them from the convenience of home, school or work."

"Adobe has helped companies across a variety of industries create compelling and intuitive applications. It's exciting to see Auto-Graphics use our open source technology to help shape a new generation of libraries that are web-enabled and more participatory," said Dave Gruber, group product marketing manager, Platform Business Unit at Adobe. "As the way individuals access information continues to evolve, libraries can significantly benefit from the next generation of web applications built on the Flash Platform which run consistently across operating systems and browsers."

AGent Iluminar provides library customers with access to Web 2.0 functionality through a RIA environment that offers a multifaceted user experience not possible with using HTML web applications alone. With the application developed on the open source Flex framework, AGent Iluminar transfers processing to the web client to provide significantly faster transitions and better software performance utilizing less bandwidth. In addition, it enables a higher level of expression from the end user, with new functionality that includes an interactive gallery of jacket art, dynamic retrieval and sorting of results and lists displays, the ability for the user to manipulate the presentation of vector-based data on the fly and a variety of additional customization capabilities that can be performed by the end user.

"AGent Iluminar, built on the open source Flex framework, is just another example of our commitment to continually upgrade our software to incorporate cutting edge technology and deliver this to our library customers," commented Paul Cope, president of Auto-Graphics. "We believe that RIAs are truly the next generation trend for interactivity, and we look forward to providing the next generation of a kids catalog based on the same technology soon."

Additional information about AGent Iluminar will be made available to interested media and partners at ALA Midwinter 2009; to schedule a demonstration, please contact Kim Masterson at (909) 569-1529 or kxm@auto-graphics.com.
