White Bear Lake, MN – January 7, 2009 – Tech Logic jump starts the New Year with CircIT 2009, the third generation of the company’s full-featured self-checkout software.
CircIT, first released in 2007, is a dedicated Web server system that integrates with a library’s automation system for self-checkout, circulation, reports, and RFID tag read/write functions. CircIT offers unlimited HTML customization options for patron screens, and functions with RFID and barcode technology.
CircIT 2009 takes patron services a step further by displaying details on items they have checked out. These details include fine information, holds, overdue items, charged items, unavailable holds, and recall items.
CircIT 2009 has enhanced payment of fines features, including:
- Display of daily total of fines and other payments in the library’s bill handling equipment.
- Enhanced credit card processing for patrons, including interfaces with three additional key payment gateways: VeriSign/PayPal, Moneris, and Authorize.Net.
- Processing of payment information using an integrated library system’s Web service API.
Another convenience for staff is the new Rental Items feature. This feature allows the acceptance of rental payments at the beginning or end of self-checkout.
