MELBOURNE, Australia, January 18, 2008 – SirsiDynix, the global leader in strategic technology solutions for libraries, has been selected by the State Library of Tasmania which manages the Tasmanian Automated Library Information System (TALIS) Network to implement the SirsiDynix Symphony Library Management System and a range of value-added solutions for enhancing the library user experience and library staff productivity. It is the largest library network consortium in Australia with 240 public, TAFE, K-12, government and special libraries. TALIS has selected SirsiDynix Symphony to replace its current Infor/Geac and Softlink/Alice systems and plans to take its new suite of SirsiDynix solutions live early in 2009.TALIS will use the SirsiDynix Symphony platform to manage a single shared bibliographic database that contains the bibliographic records for all items held in the 240 TALIS libraries. The system underpins service delivery to approximately 300,000 library users across the state of Tasmania.
