November 15, 2007 -- Emeryville, CA. Innovative announced today that California State University (CSU), Fresno has launched the general release version of the Encore discovery services platform. CSU Fresno's Madden Library is the 13th library to go live with Encore and the first to do so outside the product's development-partner group.
CSU Fresno is now using Encore to serve its community of more than 22,000 students and 1,100 faculty members. "We were looking at various, new 'front ends' to the Madden Libraries information in order to give faculty and students a more engaging and complete experience of our collections and how those collections relate to resources available out on the web," says Peter McDonald, Dean of Library Services. "We felt that Encore could best meet this challenge. It will provide a platform that will highlight our scholarly resources, as well as delivering an experience that would be both fun and provide intellectual substance to our users."
"It's gratifying for Innovative to see Encore in general release at CSU Fresno," says Senior Product Manager Dinah Sanders. "We also look forward to the remaining libraries that have selected Encore going live in the coming months."
