AquaBrowser Library continues successful sales streak

Press Release: The Library Corporation [June 20, 2007]

INWOOD, WV, June 20, 2007- TLC has experienced continued sales success with AquaBrowser Library, the visual faceted search that connects to any data source.

Eileen R. Kontrovitz, M.L.S, Head of Automation at Ouachita Parish Public Library in Louisiana, commented: "We chose AquaBrowser because it wraps all of the advanced features a library OPAC should have into one place. Not only will our patrons be able to do faceted searching but they will also have access to a federated search of our databases, a kids' catalog, a Web crawler, enhanced content and MyLibraryBookstore, our digital collection, and numerous other features in one place. We especially like the word cloud, which helps patrons search in a visual way to make associations they might not have known about. And most importantly, the AquaBrowser features work now. No more promises of future functionality that never appear! All this, and since AquaBrowser works regardless of ILS platform, we will never have to disrupt patron access to information regardless of any future ILS decision."

Libraries that recently purchased AquaBrowser include: Adair County Public Library, MO; Charlotte-Glades Library, FL; George Mercer Jr. Memorial Library, NY; Palestine Public Library, TX; Philips Collection Library, DC; Southwestern Assemblies of God, TX; Salt Lake Community College Library, UT; and St. Bernard Parish Library, LA.

Carroll County Public Library (CCPL) in Maryland will upgrade their AquaBrowser to create an even more fully integrated discovery platform. They plan to add their Community Information and a full-featured interface to authority records. CCPL will also add new relevancy options that include holdings counts as one of the determining factors in the AquaBrowser relevancy rankings displayed to patrons.

AquaBrowser Library is the only visual faceted search tool in the U.S. that has been implemented in over 100 library systems (over 200 worldwide).
