This summer will see the installation of Talis at Clare County Libraries. Clare is the first public library in Eire to select Talis, and one of the largest, with 15 branches and a local studies centre serving a population of 90,000. BLCMP's Database of over 15 million bibliographic records was a key factor in the decision, as it will speed the retrospective conversion process for the county's quarter of a million items.
The co-operative spirit of BLCMP and its community of member libraries was especially attractive to Clare, bringing the benefits of wide experience in public and academic libraries. Clare also cited the TalisWeb OPAC an important element in choosing Talis.
