Emeryville, CA—Innovative announced today that Washington-Centerville Public Library has selected Millennium as its new integrated library technology platform. The configuration selected includes Innovative's Ecommerce package and Research Pro—the company's federated search tool. The Library, which has been ranked number-one six times among libraries its size by Hennen's American Public Library Ratings, will use Innovative products to fulfill its mission to be patron centered, forward thinking, and dedicated to going beyond traditional offerings.
"As a customer-centered public library, we were impressed with Millennium's patron services through WebPAC Pro such as saving a reading history, automated in-bound RSS feeds, Patron Ratings, and online fee-payment and donations with Ecommerce," says Library Director Cindi Klinck. "Millennium delivers the options our technology-savvy users are demanding and does not require a lot of staff intervention because these features are fully integrated."
The Library is a popular community resource with 2.4 million annual circulation and over 60,000 registered patrons. Says Margaret Maddox, Technical and Information Services Manager: "In addition to the public-service tools, Millennium offers many other features staff were looking for such as linking patron records for family members, ease of report and list creation without having to learn a complex computer language, and the ability to perform a Global Update on our catalog database."
The Library's staff also looked at the companies behind possible technology solutions. Says Klinck: "We appreciate Innovative's longevity and stability in the quickly changing ILS marketplace, their commitment to regularly evolving and developing Millennium through integrating new technology and features, and their responsiveness to their customers. The Library also selected Research Pro, Innovative's federated-search product, to allow patrons to search across their numerous subscription databases on topics such as financial investments, literature, and news articles.
