LONDON, November 2, 2006 – SirsiDynix, the global leader in strategic technology solutions for libraries, announced today that Doncaster College, located in the United Kingdom, is now live with the SirsiDynix Unicorn Library Management System.
SirsiDynix Unicorn provides an open, versatile and scalable solution for managing all technical and public services within the library – enabling a library to be more productive while providing library users with the highest quality service. Unicorn also includes iLink, a feature which allows the campus community to search Doncaster College's resources, as well as the resources of other libraries, via the Internet with the online public access catalogue (OPAC). Over the coming months, the college will also be going live with Central Search federated searching and Article Linker Open URL resolver.
Ann Hill, head of Learning Resources for Doncaster College, said, "Unicorn was selected because it offered the most attractive, powerful and yet easy-to-use facilities for our students. We felt SirsiDynix shares our vision of empowering students by giving them the tools that lead them more easily to the resources they need."
Peter Gethin, SirsiDynix managing director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said, "At SirsiDynix, we partner with clients to assist them in playing a more strategic role in their communities. Doncaster College is an excellent illustration of this; the library is at the center of the college community."
