California State University, Chico Chooses Millennium and ERM

Press Release: Innovative Interfaces, Inc. [October 10, 2006]

Emeryville, CA—Innovative announced today that California State University (CSU), Chico has selected the Millennium integrated library technology platform, along Electronic Resource Management. Millennium will replace a Dynix Horizon system maintained by SirsiDynix, Inc.

"In addition to the standard ILS functionality, we are interested in improving information management and user-display capabilities with Electronic Resource Management and Millennium Media," says Library Director Carolyn Dusenbury. "We have a growing collection of e-resources including an active digitizing program of historic photograph and maps. Millennium also creates a single search for e-course reserve materials which is a significant improvement for our students."

Another factor in the decision to implement Innovative tools was the staff's assessment of Innovative as a company. Says Dusenbury: "We know the reputation of Innovative and were impressed that everything we needed had already moved from development into implementation at libraries. We are excited about the prospect for a long-term business and professional relationship with Innovative."

CSU Chico also puts an emphasis on online learning for both campus and distance learners. To more fully integrate into this environment, the library staff has selected Innovative's Single Sign-on so students and faculty can move to and from an authenticated library session on the campus e-portal.

In addition to CSU Chico, two other CSU campuses, CSU San Bernardino and CSU Fresno, selected Millennium in 2006. This brings the number of Millennium installations in the CSU system to 17 of 23 campuses.
