Emeryville, CA—The Company announced today that Binghamton University, State University of New York has selected Innovative's Electronic Resource Management to manage the Libraries' electronic holdings. Now approaching its third release, the Innovative ERM provides the tools a library needs to collect and manage the licensing and administrative details of complex electronic information resources. Binghamton University will install Electronic Resource Management in a stand-alone implementation.
"Librarians at Binghamton University conducted a review of ERM systems available in the marketplace and determined that the Innovative ERM best meets their current needs," says Director of University Libraries John M. Meador, Jr. "This product's track record, the number of installations and size of its user group, and the known quality of Innovative Interfaces' customer service and support were deciding factors in our decision." At present, the University Libraries hold approximately 30,000 e-resource titles across over 140 information packages.
Innovative has been installing Electronic Resource Management at libraries that use system software from other ILS vendors for nearly three years. Cornell University; the Library of Congress; Buffalo University, State University of New York; New York University; and Utah State University have joined the group of Millennium libraries taking advantage of Innovative's solution for managing the complexities of electronic resources that consume ever-increasing portions of library time, dollars, and effort.
Since 2003, Electronic Resource Management has been installed in nearly 170 libraries. The upcoming Release 2006, planned for mid-year, will provide automated access to usage statistics from multiple content providers through the Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting Initiative (SUSHI) Web-services model.
