BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, U.S.A., January 25, 2006 - EBSCO Information Services' online title listing service EBSCO A-to-Z(r) (A-to-Z) recently welcomed its 1,200th customer.
A-to-Z provides a single, comprehensive list of electronic and print titles to which a library has access. It is backed by one of the largest, most powerful knowledge bases in the industry, with more than 101,000 unique titles representing nearly 1,000 databases and publisher e-journal packages from almost 200 providers. A-to-Z includes a Notes and Icons feature that allows customers to indicate access restrictions and user rights for resources, and to quickly update and advise end users of any authentication information needed to access resources. Additional features include enhanced proxy support, URL maintenance, usage statistics analysis and more.
"A-to-Z offers a user-friendly interface for our patrons and simple setup and administration," said Lee McCarley, assistant director for resources management, Mercer University School of Medicine. "Tech support is superb, and it works well with journals from a variety of online providers - all of which makes me a happy librarian."
The service integrates with EBSCO's other e-resource access and management tools, including EBSCOhost(r) Electronic Journals Service (EJS) and EBSCO's OpenURL link resolver, LinkSource(r). A-to-Z customers who use EJS receive automatic e-journal updates to their knowledge base in real time. The library may also add other titles, including Open Access journals, to create a complete e-resource list. Coverage and embargo information are also included in the service.
