Ex Libris SFX Sites upgrade with MetaLib

Press Release: Ex Libris [June 29, 2005]

Boston, MA -- June 29, 2005. Ex Libris Inc., is pleased to announce the recent decision of four Association of Research Libraries (ARL) to upgrade from their existing SFX systems to the combined MetaLib/SFX solution. These four sites?Johns Hopkins University, Carnegie-Mellon University, North Carolina State University, and the University of Chicago have previously run SFX in a stand-alone mode as their institutional link-resolver.

"We were looking for a solution that could take us beyond an “out-of-the-box” implementation, and we're confident that MetaLib's X-Server will provide the flexibility we are looking for to customize the system to meet our metasearch needs.” stated Andrew Pace, Head of Systems for North Carolina State University.

“We are seeing a major trend among our SFX sites to now also implement MetaLib,” commented Susan M. Pastore, Vice-President of Sales for Ex Libris Inc. “The marriage of Ex Libris' award-winning linking technology and our leading-edge MetaSearch tool is proving an irresistible combination for libraries of all sizes and types. SFX and MetaLib enjoy an overwhelming presence in the high-end ARL market, with 74 SFX installations and 46 MetaLib installations.”
