BOSTON—January 15, 2005—At the Dynix 2005 Kick-Off Meeting today, convened during the Midwinter Meeting of the American Library Association, Customers of Dynix, Inc. (CODI), the North American users' group supporting libraries using Dynix software, received a $10,000 donation from Dynix. The contribution fulfilled a November 2004 joint promotion called “CODI Cash.”
Launched on November 3 at the 2004 CODI Annual Conference in Portland, OR, themed “Coming Together,” the CODI Cash promotion offered North American customers discounts on products purchased during the month of November. Customers were given discount certificates in various denominations that could be redeemed toward the purchase of a wide variety of popular add-on products and consulting services. As a highlight of the promotion, Dynix pledged that a portion of revenues would be gifted back to CODI to be used at the organization's discretion.
“We are very pleased with the opportunity to thank CODI for their tremendous effort and support,” said Dynix President and CEO Jack Blount, who presented the donation to Vicki Teal Lovely, immediate past-president of the CODI users' group and technical services coordinator at the South Central Library System (Madison, WI).
“This generous offer to partner with CODI is an example of the open and cooperative relationship that Dynix seeks to foster with us,” Teal Lovely said. “CODI and Dynix have long enjoyed a successful relationship of working together to incorporate the needs of Dynix customers into Dynix products, whether it is through joint efforts such as the enhancements process or a promotional effort such as the CODI Cash offer.”
Teal Lovely said the CODI Board of Directors has decided to use the funds to sponsor a membership drive in 2005. The organization will offer free, one-year memberships to all North American Dynix customers who are not currently CODI members, enabling CODI to demonstrate the benefits of CODI membership.
“We appreciate the support we receive from Dynix and look forward to our continued partnership,” said CODI President David Schuster, system administrator for Plano Independent School District (Plano, TX). “CODI Cash was a great idea through which Dynix clearly offered a show of support that will benefit our important initiatives in 2005.”
