DES PLAINES, ILLINOIS, Nov. 9, 2004: Endeavor Information Systems announced David Richter joined the industry-leading library software developer this week as Vice-President of Global Sales. In this role, Richter will lead Endeavor's worldwide sales initiatives introducing academic, research and special libraries to Endeavor's eighteen library software systems. He will work with libraries to develop long-term strategies for work with Endeavor's flagship Voyager integrated library management system, the strategically-advanced ENCompass system for managing, searching and linking digital collections and the new Meridian system for efficient, effective electronic resource management.
“Libraries are currently experiencing dramatic transition and although traditional library automation software is relatively universal, I believe that there are tremendous new opportunities for advancement with ENCompass for federated search and digital collection management,” Richter said. “I'm excited to learn more about the changing roles of academic and research libraries in order to ensure Endeavor is delivering powerful and timely solutions that exceed our customer's expectations.”
Richter was most recently General Manager of SPSS Inc./ShowCase, a leading business intelligence and predictive analytics software developer serving customers in academic institutions, corporations, healthcare providers and government agencies. He led their business intelligence unit. Prior to that role, Richter held several leadership positions; Vice-President of Worldwide Sales for Mustang.com, an e-service and CRM solutions software firm; General Manager of Interactive Services for Engineering Automation, Inc., a high-tech visualization software and multimedia provider servicing major corporations including the biotechnology, insurance and legal industries; and with AT&T, where he led their mid-market sales efforts for the state of Ohio. Additionally, Richter brings to Endeavor 15 years of progressive experience with Lexis Nexis in a variety of sales, technical leadership roles.
“The opportunities for today's libraries are amazing. Rapid development of new library software technologies means libraries are able to serve their end users with faster service and more accurate information,” explained Roland Dietz, Endeavor President and CEO. “With David Richter leading our sales organization, Endeavor aims to connect with libraries who are looking for strategic, contiguous answers to their growing information access questions.”
