Ex Libris (Australia) is pleased to announce the City of Botany Bay Library as the newest Australian member of the ALEPH 500™ family. Botany Bay's original claim-to-fame was as the April 28, 1770 landing spot of Captain Cook -- the birthplace of modern Australia.
“We had many reasons for choosing ALEPH 500,” explains Karyn Green, Manager of Libraries, Museum and Customer Services at Botany Bay. “We have been impressed with the experienced Ex Libris staff and the Company's distinguished customer base - including the University of New South Wales and CAVAL. The deciding factor however was the excellent software design of ALEPH 500. Besides being open and providing options for electronic linking, we appreciated the comprehensive non-Roman script functionality, data-sharing capabilities and the efficiency offered by the system's modules”.
“We are very pleased to welcome the City of Botany Bay Library into the Ex Libris user community,” says Claudette Pope, Managing Director - Ex Libris Australia. “As our first Australian public library, Botany Bay is an important milestone achievement for the Australian office. In conjunction with the library we will achieve their goals for an open system providing broader information access to their community”.
