Abstract: At Vanderbilt University, the library has taken on the project of creating a news database from the Vanderbilt Television News Archive. The Archive catalogs and creates abstracts for each news program. Creating a large-scale Web-enabled database presents unique challenges in digitizing video and in producing streaming video.
