St. Louis — February 2, 2004 — Sirsi Corporation, celebrating 25 years of delivering technology “firsts” to the library community, announced today that the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library (B&ECPL) headquartered in Buffalo, NY, has selected Sirsi to help promote the library's mission as well as improve services, accessibility, and ease-of-use for both staff and patrons. “We were impressed with Sirsi's knowledge of the library community and Sirsi's comprehensive inventory of technologies to benefit library staff and patrons,” said Michael C. Mahaney, B&ECPL director. “As a large metropolitan library system circulating nearly 9 million items per year, we need a system that is up-to-date, scalable, and built for tomorrow's needs.”
