INWOOD, WV, October 21, 2003- Champaign County Library (CCL) will upgrade from a GIS Galaxy system to The Library Corporation's (TLC's) integrated, Oracle®-based automation system, Library.Solution™.
CCL (in Urbana, OH) has been a Galaxy beta site and user for 12 years. The library will implement Library.Solution this fall, along with TLC's acquisitions and serials modules, and OPAC enrichment.
Library Director Zara Liskowiak said that TLC's customer service record was important to CCL's automation choice: "When we reviewed the list of libraries using TLC and asked for references for the product, we had such positive feedback that we knew we were looking in the right direction."
Ms. Liskowiak also commented on Library.Solution: "The many enhancements with the catalog, such as the calendars to list library programs, the ability to create reading lists and bibliographies, the recommended reading lists, email notifications, and the ability to review your own accounts are products that will meet all levels of patron needs, from the 'just want to know if you have it and when I can get it' to the sophisticated user who will find the system will do all that they need."
CCL has over 90,000 volumes and provides bookmobile service to five locations. CCL has one branch in North Lewisburg. Both library locations circulate over 250,000 titles annually to 24,129 patrons.
CCL joins over 25 Ohio Library.Solution users. Some of the libraries include: Amherst Public Library, Archbold Community Library, Carnegie Public Library, Columbiana Public Library, Garnet A. Wilson Public Library, Girard Free Library, Grafton-Midview Public Library, Herrick Memorial Library, Hubbard Public Library, Kinsman Free Public Library, Lake Erie College, Lima Public Library, McKinley Memorial Library, Mechanicsburg Public Library, Morley Library, Muskingum County Library, and Portsmouth Public Library.
