Blacksburg, Va. – Blinn College in Brenham, Texas recently chose to migrate to Virtua ILS. The college's three campus libraries, located in Brenham, Bryan and Schulenburg, Texas, will be going live with Virtua this summer. Blinn has been a VTLS Classic customer since 1984.
"We believe Virtua's features along with the Chameleon iPortal's improved searching and displays will increase the quality of learning we offer to our students on multiple campuses as well as off-campus," said Linda Flynn, Director of Blinn College's library. "We have had a close working relationship with VTLS through all the years and we look forward to working with VTLS in the future."
Addressing the needs of over 13,000 students, the college's library was attracted by Virtua's loan capability that easily enables staff and patrons to request and share materials from all three campuses. Blinn College libraries has approximately 150,000 bibliographic records and serve over 14,500 patrons.
Blinn College was founded in 1883 and is the oldest county-owned junior college in Texas. The College is entering its 119th year providing education services in south central Texas and currently ranks 10th in size among the 50 public two-year college districts in the state.
"We're extremely pleased with the decision of Blinn College moving to Virtua," said Carl Grant, President and COO of VTLS.
